Scott has inspired countless people with his story of courage and triumph. While training for the 1999 Olympics, Scott injured himself and was paralyzed and told he would never walk again. He developed his own recovery program with the help of his Olympic coach. Against all odds, Scott walked out the hospital weeks later.
For 18 years the story was that his injury was the result of an accident, but in reality it was the result of a failed suicide attempt. This makes Scott's recovery even more amazing.
Scott went public at the TedX talk for the first time. What kind of mental shift did Scott Sargeant have to make in order to make a 180? What were the signs that could have prevented him from making the worst decision of his life?
This powerful message of hope, self-realization, mental health and personal development is one Scott felt compelled to share in order to help those going through the same challenges he experienced.

''Time to write a new story.''-Scott Sargeant"Time to write a new story." -Scott SargeantCapistrano Beach, CA - Scott Sargeant is a success and mental performance coach. In his life he has been an Aerospace Engineer, an NCAA champion and an Olympic-level athlete. He is also a former quadriplegic, following an incident that broke two cervical vertebrae and crushed his spine. He may also be one of the most inspirational people you will ever meet. So often the thing that we create is self-hypnosis. It is something that is often imagined and made up. Scott's process helps them tell a new story. If you are ready to take that next step, or if you are interested in inspiring your organization to move forward, Scott Sargeant may just be the man you need. Scott Sargeant is a success and mental performance coach. In his life he has been an Aerospace Engineer, an NCAA champion and an Olympic-level athlete. He is also a former quadriplegic, following an incident that broke two cervical vertebrae and crushed his spine. He may also be one of the most inspirational people you will ever meet. In an effort to better connect with the people who can most benefit from his experience and skills, Scott has released a new short video entitled “Scott Sargeant on Fear.” In this video he shares his views on fear ,how it can “paralyze” us into inaction, and how we can address it. “Fear is one of those things that often keeps us stuck or ‘paralyzed,’” says Scott. He compares this often emotional and mental paralysis to his own experience of near total physical paralysis, unable to move or even feel. “Fear can paralyze us if we allow it to take over our system.”What is the solution? Scott says it involves being able to see fear for what it is and then move through it. Fear is temporary. Acknowledging this and seeing that it is a stage can allow an individual to find the strength to move forward and be successful. With his own personal experience recovering from physical paralysis and the fear associated with it, Scott has the empathy and insight that will help you move beyond the fear to your own success. If you are ready to take that next step, or if you are interested in inspiring your organization to move forward, Scott Sargeant may just be the man you need.
